Effective 1 September 2026
Terms and Conditions
Membership, participation, fees, notice periods and club responsibilities for the 2026/27 season.
1. Registration pathway
The Jotform page records first-session interest and does not by itself create Basketball England membership. If a player joins KSS, the club will explain any required Basketball England registration through PlayHQ. Spond is used for attendance, availability and club communication with registered families.
2. Accurate information
Parents, carers and adult members must provide accurate contact, emergency and medical information and tell KSS promptly when it changes. Information is handled under the Privacy Notice.
3. Participation and risk
Basketball involves physical activity and ordinary sporting risk. Players must follow safety instructions, use suitable clothing and footwear, and tell coaches about injury, illness or anything affecting safe participation. KSS may pause participation where reasonably necessary for welfare or safety.
4. Attendance and supervision
Parents and carers are responsible for safe arrival and prompt collection outside the club’s agreed supervision period. Absence should be reported through the normal club communication route where reasonably possible.
5. Membership fees and payments
The September 2026 Team Membership fees are £35 per month for one child, £60 for two siblings and £85 for three siblings. Annual upfront prices are £360, £600 and £840. Pay-As-You-Go is £10 per session for casual attendees who are not KSS team members. The first trial session is free.
Monthly fees are due on the 1st. Payment instructions are sent directly to parents or carers; bank details are not published on this website. Families should verify any unexpected request to pay a changed account by calling the club.
Basketball England membership, competition, licence, kit and other third-party charges are separate unless KSS expressly says they are included.
6. Leaving, notice and annual refunds
Monthly and annual Team Membership may be ended by giving one month’s written notice to the Club Secretary or Treasurer. Notice begins when it is received and KSS will confirm the effective end date. Simply stopping attendance or cancelling a standing order does not end membership.
Monthly fees remain payable to the confirmed end date. If that date falls part-way through a billing month, any final amount will be calculated reasonably on a pro-rata basis.
For annual members, unused prepaid Team Membership is refunded pro-rata from the confirmed end date using the annual rate actually paid. KSS does not charge an additional cancellation penalty. Amounts already due may be deducted. Separate Basketball England, competition, kit and other non-recoverable third-party costs are not included in the pro-rata membership refund unless expressly stated.
7. Missed sessions and club cancellations
Refunds are not automatically available because a player chooses not to attend an individual session while membership remains active. If KSS cancels a separately paid activity and does not provide a reasonable alternative, an appropriate refund or credit will be considered. Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights.
8. Financial difficulty
Families should contact KSS early and in confidence. Payment breaks, reduced payments or other arrangements may be considered case by case for injury, significant changes in family circumstances or other exceptional reasons. Any arrangement must be confirmed in writing.
9. Selection and playing time
Registration and payment do not guarantee squad or match selection, a minimum amount of playing time, a particular position or promotion to another age group. Coaching decisions consider development, attendance, attitude, ability, welfare, eligibility and team requirements.
10. Behaviour, safeguarding and discipline
Members and families must follow the Code of Conduct and safeguarding arrangements. Concerns may be handled locally or referred to Basketball England or statutory services depending on their nature. Safeguarding matters are not dealt with as ordinary complaints.
11. Photography and communication
Photography and filming are managed under club safeguarding and privacy arrangements. Consent can be withdrawn for future optional use. Operational messages about sessions, welfare, membership and fixtures are distinct from optional marketing.
12. Changes and disruption
KSS may reasonably change times, venues, coaches, age-group arrangements or competition plans where needed. Activities may be cancelled or disrupted by venue closure, severe weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside the club’s control. KSS will communicate material changes as soon as reasonably possible.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in them limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
